»7th International Workshop on Terahertz Technology and Applications« – Call for Papers

Press Release /

The »7th International Workshop on Terahertz Technology and Applications«, jointly organized by Fraunhofer IPM and the Division Optical Technologies of the VDI/VDE Society Measurement and Automatic Control (GMA), will take place from March 15 to 16, 2016 at Fraunhofer IPM in Kaiserslautern. Abstracts may be submitted until October 31, 2015.

The workshop fosters the exchange of knowledge and experience between academics and industry in rapidly developing field of terahertz technology. The technology’s potential for applications in diagnostics, measurement and testing has been demonstrated in a number of ways during the past years. However, scientists are faced with challenging questions when it comes to the industrial use of terahertz technology.

The seventh workshop will address primarily the topics of non-destructive testing, technology for homeland security, communications, health and social aspects of terahertz technology, and novel THz system technologies.

Renowned international experts have confirmed to give invited lectures to the forum, among them Prof. Dr. Willie J. Padilla from the Duke University (USA), Prof. Dr. Masahiko Tani from the University of Fukui (Japan) and Dr. W. Winkler from Silicon Radar GmbH. Prof. Dr. Georg von Freymann, head of department »Materials Characterization and Testing« at Fraunhofer IPM und Prof. Dr. Karsten Buse, executive director of Fraunhofer IPM will act as chairmen.

Experts in the field of terahertz technology are encouraged to submit their abstracts until October 31, 2015 via the VDI/VDI-GMA website (see below). The workshop will be held in English. For further information, complete call for papers and abstract submission please visit
