Fraunhofer IPM develops solutions for industrial applications on the basis of some core technologies. Some of these technologies the institute has been dealing with for many years. Spectroscopy is a field of research where competencies have been gained in the course of countless projects. Different distance measurement techniques have been adapted for practical purposes. The laser systems, which IPM has developed for imaging processes, have been awarded several prizes. Many of Fraunhofer IPM's activities are based on existing know-how, however, we also permanently open up entier new fields of technology.
