Humans perceive their environment above all visually. Image acquisition has therefore always played a central role in measurement technology. Image information about an object or a scenery is important for various purposes, such as the inspection of infrastructure, the acquisition of geo-information or the planning of traffic routes.
We use all types of cameras for our measurement systems - from smartphones to very robust industrial cameras, from the ultraviolet to the mid-infrared spectral range. They form the basis of our image acquisition systems, which provide data for a variety of applications, for example for the geometric acquisition and analysis of objects, for motion pattern recognition of people, for object recognition in images or for multispectral analysis (e.g. of plants).
Application example: infrastructure monitoring
We put together specific camera systems for high-speed recording and evaluation of camera images. These range from integrated camera chips to special adaptive optics and adapted lighting. For example, railway catenary lines can be recorded at 250 km/h in the sub-millimeter range with the aid of specially designed cameras and analyzed for wear and tear.
