Systems engineering

Our distance-measuring systems are used the world over, generally as mobile systems on rail or road vehicles, and, more recently, also on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV). Mobile mapping systems from Fraunhofer IPM are used to record the condition of rail or road infrastructure. Data acquired by mobile mapping vehicles equipped with our sensors provide the basis for construction planning, e.g. in the expansion of the fibre optic network.

Some of these units are exposed to a high level of stress. Our geometrical measuring systems measure precisely and reliably despite extreme temperatures, moisture, vibration or changing light conditions. This requires robust systems engineering. We use special materials on the one hand, and the systems also have rugged housings, a fully automatic cleaning system and various safety facilities on the other in order to guarantee this.

Worldwide operation

We deploy and maintain measurement systems to record rail, road and underwater infrastructure, in Europe as well as in South America and Asia.

Cooperating with Trimble

We have integrated Trimble's Applanix POS LV positioning system into the »T-Car«, a mobile mapping vehicle developed for Deutsche Telekom.
