PhD program

Our PhD program offers young scientists outstanding research facilities and extensive support during their doctorate. This includes personalized supervision from our scientists as well as regular seminars on scientific methods. The training for our doctoral students also includes courses on supplementary skills such as writing scientific articles for specialist publications, rhetoric skills and presentation techniques.

Each year, every doctoral student presents the current status of their work to an audience of doctoral students and supervisors. This provides practice at holding scientific presentations and encourages exchange between doctoral students at the institute.

Fraunhofer IPM boasts state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure which enables you to carry out high-quality scientific work. Due to the direct link between research and practical application, you will be in contact with industrial partners from the very start.

Graduates with above-average grades for their Diploma or Master’s studies are welcome to do their doctorate with us. If you have any questions about the doctoral program, Dr. Rosita Sowade will be happy to help.

Rewarding doctorate program

Our young scientists are regularly recognized for their exceptional performance – for example with the Hugo Geiger Prize, awarded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs for outstanding doctoral achievements in the field of applied research. Exceptional Master’s theses have also been acknowledged – and the recipients then went on to successfully complete their doctorates.
